“Swift, Silent, Deadly” is the motto of the Marine Reconnaissance community. Recon Marines pride themselves on being “jacks of all trades.” In fact, one of the Recon logos is called the “Jack” and signifies various skills possessed by Recon Marines.

What is the Recon Jack?

The Recon Jack gives meaning to the phrase ''jack of all trades”, which is a term often used to describe the capabilities of a Recon Marine. While there are different variations of the Recon Jack, each part of it signifies the skills, capabilities, and heritage of Recon Marines.

The wings and parachute represent their jump capabilities, and the diver showcases their combatant diving capabilities. The k-bar, paddle, and skull represent the history and perseverance of the community.
